جانب من تدريب فصل النفايات العضوية الذي عقدته مؤسسة دار المياه والبيئة في منتزة رام الله و أوتيل الكرمل. منح هذا التدريب فرصة للمشاركين في تطبيق أساسيات ومبادئ فصل النفايات العضوية إضافة الى احترازات السلامة. كما استهدف هذا التدريب فئة الشباب غير المتعلمين والعاطلين عن العمل والنساء، اضافة الى العاملين في المطاعم، وذلك للبدء بتنفيذ مشروع فصل النفايات العضوية في بعض مطاعم مدينة رام الله، ثم جمعها وترحيلها الى محطة بيتيللو لصناعة السماد العضوي (الكومبوست) منها. تعتبر هذه خطوة مهمة في التقليل من النفايات في فلسطين والحد من آثارها على البيئة، اضافة الى الاستفادة منها في إنتاج مزروعات عضوية مفيدة ناتجة عن إضافة السماد العضوي في التربة.
هذا التدريب هو أحد أنشطة مشروع SIRCLES (دعم فرص الاقتصاد الدائري للتوظيف والإدماج الاجتماعي) الممول من برنامج التعاون المشترك عبر الحدود لحوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط/ الإتحاد الأوروبي).
Part of the biowaste separation and collection training held by House of Water and Environment in Ramallah’s Public Park along with the Carmel Hotel. This training provided an opportunity for participants to practically apply the fundamentals of biowaste separation, in addition to safety measurements. Moreover, this training session targeted the NEETs (people who are not into education, employment, or training) and women, in addition to restaurant workers. This program contributes in implementing a project for separating biowaste in multiple restaurants in Ramallah city, then collecting it and transporting it to Beteillo composting unit for producing compost. This is an important step in reducing waste in Palestine and limiting its effects on the environment.
This training program is part of SIRCLES project (Supporting Circular Economy Opportunities for Employment and Social Inclusion), funded by the European Union through the ENI CBC Med 2014-2020 program).

HWE works closely with Newcastle University (UK) and many other international institutions and funding agencies such as UNESCO, ESCWA, CEDARE, UNU, USAID, DFID, AFD, GTZ, GWP, EUWI, JICA, ACSAD, BGR, EU, etc.

HWE offers a wide variety of services in water, sanitation and environmental engineering and science from the needs identification stage to the elaboration of tender documents, supervision of works and technical assistance.
House of Water and Environment
The House of Water and Environment (HWE) is a Palestinian not-for-profit NGO that was established in the year 2004. HWE aims to promote practical research into the current and future state of water resources and the environment in Palestine and across the region.
