Objectives

The overall objective of the study is to develop a comprehensive database to Bardalah watershed that will help and guide the decision makers and the strategic planners to take the right decisions about the optimal planning, development and management of the available agricultural water resources for this watershed.

The Specific objectives:

    • To provide full description of Bardalah watershed in terms of its hydrology, hydrogeology and land use/cover.

    • To assess the current agricultural water system in terms of available water resources, water supplies, water consumptions and identification of the components of water needs.

    • To provide an estimation of the total runoff volumes and rates in the entire Bardalah watershed including the determination of the rate and direction of runoff at several points in the watershed.

    • To investigate the technical interventions and the social management options for a more sustainable water management method of the Bardalah watershed.

    • To provide an assessment of the socio-economic situation of the residents of the Bardalah watershed.
